One Couple transitions from unbankable to bankable

With SNEDA’s assistance, one couple has already experienced the cycle of returning from being unbankable to being bankable within 3 years.  A husband and wife team had such financial problems in 2002 that they could only borrow (at a reasonable rate of interest) from SNEDA and SNEDA’s partner, Family Care Resources, $3,000 for their home-based daycare with a capacity of 9 children.  In 2004, they borrowed $7,000 from us to expand their daycare capacity to 12 children with little increase in costs other than repayment of the loan but with a significant increase in family income.  In April 2005, we received a check from a traditional financial institution to pay off the loan. The couple is once again bankable, self-sufficient financially and proud of their achievements. more>
