Spokane Neighborhood Economic Development Alliance (SNEDA) received notice last week from the offices of Senator Cantwell and Congresswoman McMorris of a federal grant award of $700,000 from the US Department of Health and Human Services - Office of Community Services to create jobs and business opportunities for low to moderate income people.
The funds are to be used by SNEDA to invest in a new property rehabilitation company, a business to be owned by Community Frameworks and SNEDA. The primary mission is to acquire and rehabilitate vertical mixed use buildings in order to have retail/commercial on the ground floor and housing on the upper floors. SNEDA’s funds are to be used to assist the retail and commercial businesses on the ground floor.
Our thanks for the great support we received from: more>
On September 13th, 2006, Bank of America closed its investment of $200,000 in SNEDA. Bank of America is the fifth investor in SNEDA. SNEDA identifies overlooked opportunities, i.e., near-bankable businesses, in order to create and retain (living wage) jobs and affordable housing through providing access to finance and hands-on consulting. more>
